Kierkegaard: 'The Blind Side'

In the movie, The Blind Side, Michael Oher displays the qualities of someone from the ethical stage. Oher believes he cannot change his future, he believes he will be in poverty for the rest of his life. He has no freedom to express himself. However, within football, he chooses his freedom through thoughtful decisions and commitment.

While Oher displays someone from the ethical stage, Leigh Anne Tuohy has the characteristics of an aesthete (person within the aesthetic stage). Tuohy believes everyone has control over their lives an everyone is free to make their own decisions. Regardless of their social class or upbringing.
